Lex

Every time I had a legal question as an entrepreneur, I had two options: pay $500 an hour or guess. Neither worked. I built Lex so entrepreneurs could get real answers, review their contracts, and generate the documents they actually need -- without touching a law firm for every question.

Founder, Lex

Claire had watched founders burn thousands on basic legal questions -- LLC formation, NDA review, SaaS agreement templates. The answer was always a referral to an attorney, a four-figure bill, and a two-week wait. She built Lex to give founders a faster, cheaper first line of legal clarity.

The product needed three things to work: an AI chat that could answer plain-English legal questions backed by real legal research, a document upload and analysis system for contracts, NDAs, and term sheets, and a library of lawyer-reviewed templates covering the documents every startup eventually needs.

The build took 30 days. AI chat with suggested prompts covering contract review, LLC formation, and IP protection. Document analysis with status tracking across uploaded files. A template library organized by category -- business formation, contracts, and policies -- all reviewed by a licensed attorney.

Lex launched to founders and early-stage startups. The traction was fast enough that Claire closed a $400k pre-seed round within two months of launch. She is expanding the template library based on the questions users ask most.
